Buklod Mid-Year Excellence Awards Honor Outstanding UAPGA Chapters

In recognition of exemplary chapters and leaders, the United Architects of the Philippines Graduate Auxiliary (UAPGA) convened the Buklod Midyear Excellence Awards and Gala Night, themed “Pammadayaw,” at Red Hotel Cubao, Quezon City, December 7, 2025.

The awards were divided into eleven (11) categories, giving each chapter a chance to be recognized for its excellence and notable efforts in the first half of the fiscal year.

“Today, we come together not only to mark this important occasion for UAPGA but also to celebrate a truly meaningful collaboration—a celebration of our passion, our craft, and our shared journey forward,” encouraged Mx. Kylah Kristianne SJ. Barde, National Executive Director for Governmental & External Affairs, for the opening remarks.

Starting with the minor awards, the Early Bird Recognition Award was given to Manila Centrum (1st Place), Mindoro Chapter (2nd Place), and Negros Occidental Chapter (3rd Place), alongside the Member Retention Excellence Award conferred upon Aklan Chapter (1st Place), Negros Oriental Chapter (2nd Place), and Nueva Vizcaya Chapter (3rd Place), showing their reliability and accountability under UAPGA.

Highlighting member involvement, the Excellence in Collaboration Award was awarded to Nueva Vizcaya Chapter (1st Place), City of Santiago (2nd Place), and Cagayan Valley Chapter (3rd Place), while the Highest Membership Count category was led by Aklan, followed by Manila, Negros Occidental, and Iloilo (2nd Place), Negros Oriental (3rd Place), and Sorsogon Kasanggayahan (5th Place), with the growing foundation of the community strengthened by active participation. 

“DAYDAYAW reminds us that true excellence is not achieved alone. It is shaped by shared purpose, effort, and the heart to serve,” shared Mx. Alexandra G. Lopez, National Director for Committee on Awards, highlighting the collaborative element behind the chapter’s accomplishments.

Membership initiatives were further recognized with Best Membership Poster awards given to Camarines (1st Place), Ciudad de Vigan (2nd Place), City of Santiago (3rd Place), Nueva Vizcaya (4th Place), and Aklan (5th Place), while the Most National Event Delegates Award was led by Iloilo (1st Place), followed by Bohol (2nd Place) and Camanaya Hilaga & Quezon Province (3rd Place).

Recognizing dedication and meaningful service, the MYEA Digital Communications Excellence Award was awarded to Iloilo Chapter (1st Place), Nueva Vizcaya Chapter (2nd Place), and Manila Centrum (3rd Place), while the Aureate Kardia Award with their initiatives and bridges built, honored Tarlac Chapter (1st Place), Aklan Chapter (2nd Place), and City of Santiago Chapter (3rd Place).

In the major awards promoting purpose through empowerment across UAPGA, the Best World Architecture Day Celebration Award was won by Ciudad de Vigan (1st Place), Iloilo (2nd Place), and Isabela & Negros Occidental (3rd Place), while the Best Membership Drive Campaign was won by Camarines, followed by Manila Centrum and Tarlac, and the Best Membership Drive Award was awarded to Manila Centrum (1st Place), Camarines (2nd Place), and Iloilo (3rd Place), continuing the cycle of opening doors for members of the organization.

“Your contributions, whether it may be a small one or a great one, deserves a spotlight, always,” affirmed Lorraine Mapola, National Director as she concluded the MYEA, adding, “You deserve a big round of applause, from your efforts, down to your achievements.”
